Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities

Welcome to the Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities Website
As one of Scotland’s most popular holiday spots it is no surprise that a programme of Summer festivities and events has been provided for almost 40 years.
The first festival was a small affair over a few weeks in the summer and over the years it has continued to grow not just in length but also in its reputation and stature. Our events now commence at the beginning of May, and involve a 4 day Jazz Festival in June and continue throughout the summer with a final flourish of a Grand Parade and magnificent Tattoo at the end of August.
Our 2007 events have now come to a close. During the course of the summer we have had a magnificent series of events and attracted crowds in larger numbers than ever before. The weather, which was often unsettled over the summer months was exceptionally kind to us and didn’t adversely affect anyone’s enjoyment.
As we prepare for our 2008 Festival we are compiling a list of events which will be particularly diverse with something to suite all ages and tastes. In addition, for the first time we shall be holding a 2 day Festival of Gardening & Country Life in July.
